This is the week to plan for 2021 and think about growing your direct sales business with fresh new customers and hostesses!  Each new customer and hostess will introduce you to new faces you’ve never met before.

How do you expand your business with fresh new faces?  The simple answer is to make this part of your daily activities.

I call these daily activities the customer journey.

  • When you meet someone new for the first time, the first step is to build a relationship.
  • Once she gets to know you, you invite her to learn about your products and she places a first order.  She becomes a customer.
  • Once she loves your products and receives value and friendship from you through your customer care system, she’s ready to convert to a hostess.
  • As you build the friendship with your hostess and she introduces you to her friends, you discover she likes you, she knows you well and trusts you enough to want to learn more about your business opportunity.

This is a journey you intentionally take someone through after meeting them and building a relationship!

It’s being intentional about meeting fresh new faces and taking them on your journey…  some people call it a funnel. 

I hear it from coaching clients many times… “I’ve run out of family and friends and I have no bookings, no prospects.”   That’s because they are not “actively” working on growing their business every day.

There are many activities, but here are my top seven.

#1 Work with your Hostess.  This is the number one place to get in front of fresh new faces. Incentivize her with extra gifts when she

  • invites three new people you’ve never met before
  • brings in three outside orders from people you’ve never met before.

Bingo!  You have SIX new fresh faces to build relationships from every party you hold.

#2 Networking.   In today’s world we are networking online.  Find an online networking group that helps you meet new people.  Be consistent in showing up, offering value, commenting and participating and building relationships.  Then invite them to join your own VIP Customer group to build the know, like and trust factor and begin your cycle of nurturing them through your funnel.

 

Networking is all about DAILY PRACTICE to develop friendships and relationships online.

#3 Generate new leads with your catalogs.   Your catalogue is your product showcase.  It’s like your store window and the more you share your physical catalogue, the more customers you’ll attract.

I recommend my coaching clients mail 5-10 catalogues every Monday to the people they met recently or customers who haven’t bought in a while. Then every Thursday, follow up with a phone call for a sale, a booking or a business appointment.  This is a strategy that brings you a solid return on investment.

#4  Vendor Events and Fundraisers.  Today there are many “online” events popping up.  Research and find the event that is appropriate for your ideal customer. This is where you can begin the customer journey – becoming a customer, potential for a new hostess who introduces you to 10 new customers.

Online Fundraisers are also a great way to meet new people.  Have an outline for fundraisers and offer them at your parties, and events.  They can be done in a Facebook party format very effectively.

#5  Customer care.  When you have a systematic way to follow up with your customers you are deepening relationships.  In my Journey to Leadership coaching program, I teach the 2-2-2 system after a customer places her first order! Once she’s plugged into this system, she appreciates your follow-up in a timely manner and it’s not overwhelming.  Customer care is about offering the best service so you stand out and people love you enough to want to introduce you to their friends.

 #6  Group Presentations.  Presenting signature presentations to online groups of people is great exposure for you getting NEW CUSTOMERS!   Offer drawings, capture people’s information and add them into your funnel series.

#7  Referral Rewards system.  Referrals come from excellent customer service.  When you build solid relationships with your customers they LOVE to refer you.   Developing a referral business is like your unpaid work force and another daily activity to build new customers.

Start the new year of 2021 with a checklist of daily activities.
