Are you ready to kick off your best year yet in 2014?  My suggestion is to find a quiet 10 minutes in the next two days and set your intentions to kick off the year with a successful January.

Get real!  Think about how many pay checks you want in January?  Every time you hold a party, you receive a pay check.  Unlike people who work a J.O.B. they receive two pay-checks a month.  Decide how many times you’re willing to go out and make money holding a party in January.  Are you prepared to hold two parties a week, or eight parties for the month? Think of holding three a week, for a total of 12 a month?

I’m sure many of you have January parties booked by now, but ask yourself how many do I “really” want to book.  Adopt the attitude to “get real” and push yourself to book the number you want to book now!

Next decide, what type of special offer you’re willing to give your January hostesses who book “early” in the month?  Don’t lose the first 2 weeks, get every week sealed with the amount of parties you want to hold.

Focus on high hostess credits in January with every hostess.  If you focus on this “one” thing – every hostess achieving high hostess credits in January – you’ll have a strong start to 2014.

Next decide, how much time you’re willing to promote your business in January.  January is the month when retail stores are shouting “sale.”  Why do they do this?  Because they know they’re coming off a busy oct/nov/dec.  This is their marketing strategy.  Think “how” you’ll promote your business in January on social media at networking events, following up with referrals.  Read more about a social media strategy on my blog post here.

Here’s a January idea that worked for me and my million dollar team.  In the month of January offer to bring wine glasses and champagne (or sparkling grape juice) for your hostess and guests to have  a “Toast to the New Year Party.”  In your opening talk ask each guest to introduce herself and share her new year’s resolution.  Listen very carefully to these resolutions and see who reveals they are looking for extra income, or wanting to pay off debt.   These are your first prospects to schedule interviews in January 2014.
