What if 15 minutes could change your whole business?

In his book, “Success Happens,” Dr. Tom Barrett says, “Successful people focus for 15 minutes a day! These 15 minutes of focus are simultaneously the most important and for many the least desirable part of the week, but if you understand this brief discomfort for 15 minutes, it will change your business and your future by setting in motion a series of events that inevitably results in success.”

I love this book. Tom is talking about making those dreaded phone calls for 15 minutes every day! I believe in his strategy and have been coaching and helping direct sellers work on this concept of 15 focused minutes every day.

Even in today’s world of high tech where it’s so easy to text, or instant message someone, if you want to build deep relationships with people, the phone is your best friend. You have to remember we are in the relationship business. Even if we connect via text, email or social media, it’s on the phone where a customer or hostess hears the warmth and tone of your voice. This makes the difference in people wanting to do business with you.

What is it about the phone that we all fear?   Maybe, someone will say no? Perhaps, you think you’re bugging someone? Isn’t amazing how we think of all the things we have to do before we make phone calls!   We find ourselves putting off making the calls because of …. what?

I know you’re all nodding your heads along with me, but here’s the rub. We all have other commitments, but if we don’t use the phone on a consistent basis to ask for future business, we are stopping the flow of selling, booking and recruiting.

I noticed so many of my team members were terrible with their follow-up. We’d talk about it, they would commit to getting organized, but somehow the follow-up phone calls just weren’t happening. I realized we had to create a system.

So, I created a TOOL that helped my team and the results were amazing!  Now, I help direct sellers all around the world focus on 15 MINUTES OF PHONE TIME to get results with this system!

20 Calls weekly worksheet system 2

It’s called My Weekly 20 calls worksheet! This quick, easy system helps you make FOCUSED weekly calls to continue the flow of consistent business. When you COMMIT to 15 minutes of FOCUSED PHONE time daily, you’re developing a daily success habit that brings the results you want. I have been sharing this tool with people over the last 10 years and it always gets great results.

So, in your Summer Action Plan worksheet on Page 12, you’ll see a link to download my system called the “20 Calls Weekly Worksheet System.”

As I said this system is extremely simple, but extremely powerful. In this sheet you’ll see the 5 most important people you should be connecting with (by phone) every week. So each week you write out a list of 20 people you need to connect by phone. Each day you make your calls and record them on your sheet. At the end of the week you check to see how many you actually connected with! Then you get a new sheet and those you missed get put on next week’s sheet. You then put your weekly log into a special binder so you can always refer back to when you last connected with a person.

In your hand-out you’ll also see a number of scripts you can use when making your calls.

This is an activity PHONE LOG of important customers, hostesses, prospects and team members. I know many of the most successful network marketers who use this type of system today, as they know the value of connecting with people via the phone.

This is a great exercise to begin over the summer months. I challenge you to set aside just 15 minutes daily every week over the summer and commit to focused follow-up phone time using the 20-calls weekly worksheet.
