I believe “NOW” is the best time to recruit and grow a strong team.  Why?   It’s the second quarter of the year and we all know recruiting is one of the secrets to growth in your direct sales business.

There are 2 reasons why I believe “NOW” – the second quarter of the year is the best time to focus on recruiting.

  • The first reason is because in this second quarter there are people who are open to opportunity.   There’s a saying, “Hope Springs Eternal.”  It’s Spring and this is a time of the year when we are bursting out of the cold into the warmth and looking for new opportunities.  We have all come through a couple of tough years dealing with change from the Covid pandemic, and “spring” is a sign of new goals ahead. Now is the time for you to share your opportunity.  There are people who want to get out debt, or work from home or have flex hours now!  If they join NOW!  In this second quarter of the year with your help help they will achieve their goals by the end of the year.
  • The second reason I believe this second quarter of the year is the time to recruit strongly, is my own experience in growing my million-dollar team.  It was at this time of the year where I noticed our team recruiting was very low.  I created a focused plan on growing NEW team members over the next 90-day period.

The results from this strategy tripled everything and was instrumental in growing our team to the million-dollar level.  The strategy went like this.

  • I showed them how to discover prospects to recruit in this quarter.
  • I taught them how to connect with prospects during this important quarter of the year, And
  • I used methods that built their confidence in closing prospects during this quarter of the year.

To help you understand how to recruit NOW in the second quarter of the year, I will share with you a 3-series blog post.

DISCOVER PROSPECTS TO RECRUIT

There are three ways I was very successful at discovering new prospects to recruit. I teach this model to all my coaching clients in my Journey to Leadership Coaching program.  When you understand this concept it will help you realize that there are people everywhere who are looking for an opportunity if it’s the right fit for them.

Let’s review these 3 ways.

The #1 way to discover prospects to recruit is… Build friendships!  Wow! (What a concept!)   Yes, building friendships with customers, building friendships with hostesses, building friendships with  new people you meet, building friendships with every guest at parties is the number way to “DISCOVER” people who are looking for an opportunity.

You Discover a prospect when you get to know her, have conversations and build a friendship.

What does building a friendship mean?  Do you meet someone and smile and say, “hello” and go no further?  What I learned about building friendships with people is to open up myself and have conversations!  These conversations led to so much business.

I got really good at building conversation to grow friendships.  It’s not just about “meet and greet.”  You must  go further, ask questions, get to know more about a  person. You want to “discover” if there is a fit for your opportunity.  Ask questions in a friendly manner.  Find out where they live, where they work, how many kids, what’s their favorite color or movie.  You’re looking for the commonality between you and her because this builds the friendship.

The #2 way to “discover” prospects to recruit is… Build friendships at parties.  Many times I ask my coaching clients to share with me the results of their latest party. They tell me about the sales and how many bookings and usually say, there was nobody at the party to recruit.

I’m here to tell you there are prospects for recruiting at every party.   You just have to discover them by building a friendship.

Here is what I want to hear when I ask you the same question.

  • I want to know about your hostess. What is her occupation, how confident is she inviting her friends, how much she loves the products and why is she willing to be a host?
  • I want to know about each of the guests who attended the party. Even those who did not attend. Tell me how much each guest bought, tell me who booked and why did they book and then tell me something you learned about each of the guests.

In the dictionary the word ‘DISCOVER” is finding someone unexpectedly in the course of a search.  And that’s what you’re searching for? Finding or discovering people who are interested in learning more about your opportunity.

One tool to use at your parties to “DISCOVER” prospects is a check-in google form.  Learn about this amazing tool in my video on the questions to ask that leads you to discover prospects.

The important concept is to get to know each of your guests.  Ask you hostess to share some information about each guest then start a conversation at the party with each guest and build a friendship.   The same applies to an online party, just build the friendship online. Ask questions in messenger and start a conversation.

THERE ARE PROSPECTS AT EVERY PARTY IF YOU TAKE THE TIME TO BUILD FRIENDSHIPS!

The #3 way to “discover” prospects to recruit is…  to build friendships networking.  This was one of my greatest strengths in recruiting, and second quarter months are a perfect time to join groups and expand your network.  Most of my personal recruits came from meeting people at networking groups simply because I started conversations to learn more about them and built friendships.

I sponsored at least 10 of my personal recruits from meeting them at my Chamber of commerce events.  A chamber of commerce offers networking events every week. They have after hour events, business women luncheon events, and planned speaking events. Joining networking groups and meeting new people and building friendships right now in the second quarter of the year is a perfect time  to discover prospects  are looking for your opportunity.

Let’s recap these three important ways to “Discover” prospects to recruit.

  • #1 Way –  Build friendships.
  • #2 Way – Build friendships at parties.
  • #3 Way – Build friendships networking.

Once you get into the habit of starting conversations, asking questions and get to know people to build a friendship, the whole “discover” process will open the door to  you having success in recruiting  in this second quarter.
