What’s to love about a planner and PLANNING?

I don’t know why I’m obsessed with planners.  It must be something from my childhood or perhaps it’s ingrained in my DNA, but having a physical planner that I write in every day keeps me feeling like my life is on track and I know where I am, ALL THE TIME!

IT’S NATIONAL PLANNER DAY TODAY!

It’s August 1st and already I’ve filled out my Monthly GOAL AND ACTION Page and now I have a compass to follow for the rest of the month.

I know my goal for August and the important events I will attend.

I have worked out my three priorities for the month.

I’m working on the people I want to connect with and co-work with this month.  I find co-working is one of the GREAT new ways to get things done.

CO-WORKING IS A GREAT WAY TO WORK ON YOUR PLANS

What is co-working?  It’s when we all come together for 60-90 minutes with an agenda to work on our business.  We get together on zoom and chat about the things we want to get done, then we take 15-20 minutes at a time with lovely music playing and work on it.  Then we come back for 5 minutes to discuss our work, and then go for another 15-20 minutes.

If you’re interested in joining a CO-WORKING session, DM me on Instagram.

Once I’ve worked on my monthly goals and action plan, I’m ready to lay it all out in my two page monthly spread.   This is where I love to use POST IT NOTES.   Using post it notes you can move things around to fit the deadlines what you want to accomplish, and as you know sometimes we need to extend the deadline, but that means we are focused on getting the project done.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT WEEKLY PLANNING

The best thing to planning your week is using a CHECKLIST!   That’s when I follow my Sunday Planning Checklist.   Make sure you  download it here  Creating a ritual every Sunday has been the best thing because I wake up every Monday morning knowing exactly how my week is laid out.

When you have a checklist to follow, you enjoy scheduling one hour of time on Sunday to map out your week.

WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT MY PHYSICAL PLANNER

When you’re busy with life you want to know how you spend your time on your business and when you have time to spend with your family and don’t forget spending time for your own self care.   Here are a few bullet points that I love working with my PLANNER PROMPTS.

  • Setting 3 focus goals each week that help me accomplish projects.
  • Writing out “what matters most this week.” It’s my top priority for the week.
  • Creating blocks of time using the squares laid out in my planner (pic)
  • Making sure I fill in the SELF CARE block each week so I’m taking care of “me.”
  • A reminder to work on my finances. What bills need to be paid and insuring I’m billing my clients.
  • Taking time for Personal Growth which for me is listening to podcasts and reading books on Productivity and Time Management.
  • Syncing my GOOGLE CALENDAR with my PHYSICAL PLANNER every week, so no matter where I am I can look at all my appointments, events because they’re scheduled in these two places.

AT THE END OF THE MONTH – I complete the MONTHLY REVIEW!

  • What worked?
  • What would I have done differently?
  • What did I learn this month?

THEN IT’S TIME TO START A BRAND NEW MONTH —   USING MY PLANNER!
