This week’s interview on my “Entrepreneurs who work from home” video series,” I talked with entrepreneur, Michelle Rohr!

For Michelle, entrepreneurship isn’t just a career—it’s a lifelong calling. Since 2012, she has been building businesses that not only generate income but also honor her life, her energy, and her values. Today, she runs her business solo (with only the help of a bookkeeper) using one powerful tool—Notion—and a mindset that combines structure with intuition.

From Family First to Entrepreneurial Freedom

When Michelle’s first son was born, she and her husband made a life-changing decision: he would retire from his job to take care of their children so she could grow her business. That choice allowed Michelle to build a work-from-home lifestyle that balanced productivity with the beautiful chaos of family life. And now she runs a million-dollar business from her home in Portugal.

Her Secret Weapon: Notion

notionMichelle describes Notion as “the masculine container for my feminine energy.” It’s where she keeps her entire business brain—goals, projects, routines, habits, and tasks—all connected so nothing floats alone.

Her advice for entrepreneurs curious about Notion:

  • Train your brain first. Notion reflects how you think. If your mind is disorganized, the tool will feel overwhelming.
  • Anchor everything. Connect your goals to daily habits, routines, and projects so progress happens automatically.
  • Make it your own. She took Notion apart to understand it and tailor it to her workflow.

Michelle designs her Workspace that adds Self-Care

Michelle works from a bedroom-office hybrid designed to inspire creativity and presence. She keeps her space clean, adds personal touches like candles and art, and sets up her camera so she’s always ready to film. Her goal: make showing up for her audience as easy and enjoyable as possible.

Embracing Discomfort for Breakthroughs

Michelle says,  Entrepreneurship is about constantly expanding beyond your comfort zone. She believes every breakthrough is preceded by a period of discomfort—what she calls “the dark night of the soul”—where old beliefs and patterns must be released.

Her Tech Stack & Solo Focus – Michelle keeps her tech stack lean:

  • Teachery for digital products
  • ThriveCart for payments
  • Flodesk for email marketing
  • Claude AI for content cleanup

She encourages entrepreneurs to fully use the tools they already have before adding new ones—and to choose platforms they actually enjoy.

While collaborations played a big role in her early growth, Michelle is now focusing on what she can do solo, especially through her YouTube channel where she’s challenging herself to create 100 videos.

Michelle’s advice on Money Mindset & Financial Literacy.

Michelle has learned that making money is only half the equation—you also need to grow it. She’s actively building her investing skills so she can create financial security beyond her business. Her aim: to reach a point where her business income is optional.

She recommends The Simple Path to Wealth by JL Collins for anyone ready to start their financial literacy journey.

AND  learn from her formula…  For Michelle, building a loyal audience isn’t about chasing numbers—it’s about cultivating 1,000 true fans. She believes the fastest way to do this is through video, where your authentic self can shine.  Her formula:

1,000 fans × $100/year = $100K/year

1,000 fans × $1,000/year = $1M/year

Michelle’s Best Advice for Entrepreneurs

Michelle credits a pivotal piece of advice from Mastin Kipp with helping her break past survival mode: address your trauma. By healing her own patterns—like putting herself last—she unlocked greater income and personal freedom.

She says, “Claim your power. Reset your nervous system. Put yourself first.”

Michelle’s journey is a reminder that entrepreneurship is as much an inner journey as an outer one. By honoring your energy, creating systems that work for you, and prioritizing self-care, you can build a business that not only sustains you but also allows you to thrive.
